FAQ's

What ages does the box work for?

This is a question I have been asked many times, in reality, there is no minimum or maximum age. I have had a 6 month old baby in the bike and my 73 year old mother. It's worth noting that the Bullitt is a stiff bike which makes it great to ride but you need to take care when you are travelling with your special cargo and even more care when they young and still developing. See the FAQ about baby seats below.

What heights does the box work for?

The way the design works means that the rear cushion pushes the passengers forward a little to provide a little more space meaning the handlebars are less likely to touch the heads when turning. At low speeds when you are manoeuvring with adults in the box you may give them the odd nudge with the handlebars but in normal riding, this isn't a problem.

How can I transport my baby or toddler?

The MadJax box as it comes is not suitable to transport a newborn or small toddler yet its perfectly adaptable for a few options on the market.

0-9 Months

  • Thule Chariot Infant Sling

  • Winther/ Weber Baby Seat

9-18 Months

  • Melia Aron Toddler Seat - 7 to 18 Months

Over this age they are absolutely fine but if they have a tendency to fall asleep in the box I would recommend some pipe insulation on the side for a soft pillow.

Please let me know at the time of ordering if you are planning on either of these options as I will need to make a few extra holes.

How Many can I fit in the box?

The current record is 6 small children but I wouldn't recommend for a long trip, or one with busy or bumpy roads.
